6 Years Old. My First Hit of Porn. 30 Years Later, I Finally Broke the Cycle

The Ghost at the Threshold
I was six when I first encountered porn. Too young to understand what I was seeing, but just old enough for it to mark me. By my teens, I wasn’t just exposed—I was hunting for it.
For decades, it became a background hum in my nervous system. Comfort. Escape. Ritual. And only in my late 30s—through shadow work— and then in my 40s with Human Design, Enneagram, Gene Keys and nervous system recalibration—did I begin to release what had once defined me.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t about shame. It’s about design.
Porn isn’t just a bad habit. It’s a distortion—a synthetic, ghostly attempt to fulfill a very real human need: connection to the Feminine.
But the Feminine can’t be downloaded.
What you reach for in the dark of your room will never make you whole. Sure, it may get you off. But it won’t bring you home.
AI and the Amplified Ghost
The rise of AI has only deepened the fracture. Now, the illusion isn’t just pixelated—it’s programmable. You don’t need to imagine anymore. You don’t need to feel. Just scroll, tap, click, repeat.
As Martin Shaw says, "We fail to develop our own erotic imagery."
This isn’t just addiction. It’s a disconnection from the imaginal realm itself—from soul, from story, from self.
Why You Haven’t Broken the Habit Yet
Because you’ve been trying to "overcome" it with willpower.
But habits aren't obstacles.
They’re maps.
They lead you back to unmet needs, emotional imprints, and misattuned programming.
To truly break the cycle, you don’t need more discipline.
You need more design.
A 3-Part Path to (Re)Attunement
1. Know Your Design (Human Design + Gene Keys + Enneagram)
- Your Type: For me, as a Manifestor, I'm wired to initiate—not escape. If you're a Manifestor too, learning to recognize when you're avoiding the urge to act on your truth is key.
- Your Profile: A 2/4 (that's me) or 3/5, you may hide your shame through secrecy or distraction. Instead, let true connection become your ONLY correction.
- Gene Keys: Work with your Activation Sequence. Let your shadows become thresholds instead of traps.
- Enneagram: I’m a 3w2. That means my shadow tends to prove worth through success while secretly collapsing inside. Whether you're a Type 1 fighting for control, a Type 9 avoiding conflict, or a Type 4 spiraling in longing—your addiction likely mirrors the core wound of your number. Study your dominant passion, and transmute it into presence. The Enneagram doesn’t just show your mask—it offers a map to essence.
2. Regulate Your Nervous System
- Use cold plunges, somatic breathwork, pandiculation, vagus nerve resets.
- Practice meditation, but ground it with movement.
- Create rituals of sensation that return you to now, not fantasy.
3. Integrate the Feminine
- Make space for grief. Not performance.
- Create beauty. Express eros. Let your creativity become your channel for life—not just lust.
- Forgive your past self. You did what you could to survive. You’re here now to live, learn and know wholeness.
The Black Mirror Is Broken
The screen won't reflect your soul.
The mirror’s cracked, the feminine's ghosted—and you’re still hungry.
The Pattern Isn’t You
You’re not addicted to porn.
You’re addicted to forgetting who you are.
When you know your Self, you stop reaching for the fiction—or the website—that will never fulfill you. Sure, it might get you off. But it won’t make you whole.
Start with the Self Trust Quick Start Guide—a map for reattuning all the programming and reprogramming your nervous system experienced, though this time, know You through your design, not the black mirror.
It’s easier to shift into your nature than to fight your way out of the loop.
